Let’s do a thought experiment for a moment. You have a nice car, one you’ve driven for about five years and taken good care of all these years. It’s your first car. In lieu of your impending shift overseas for work, you decide to try to sell off your car. You’re not desperate to let it go but you know your family would have greater financial stability if you did manage to sell it.

Having done a thorough job researching on online marketplaces you set your listing price at $50,000 close to the market value, with the intention of let go at $48,000. You list your car on the biggest local online marketplace and over the course of a week or so, you receive two serious offers.
